Pamela Sheyne, Songwriter, Singer, Mentor & Co-Founder of SongWriterCamps and Richard Harris, Artist, Songwriter, Producer & Co-Founder of SongWriterCamps
Richard Harris and I started talking about SongWriterCamps in 2017. We actually met at a song writing festival in Hawaii in 2008 and started to collaborate when we got back to LA. We had some success together as a writing team and in the process became really good friends. We learned that we are both extremely passionate about the craft of song writing and giving back.
We had both been mentoring at different songwriter festivals, expos and songwriting camps over the years and learned we had a lot to offer as a team so thought we would start a camp of our own. We both didn’t have the benefit of being mentored in our early careers and felt that by sharing our experience and knowledge to others, we could hopefully inspire and help others on their creative paths. —Pamela Sheyne, Songwriter/Singer/Mentor & Co-Founder of SongWriterCamps
Les Brockmann, Recording Engineer/Mixer & Score Mixer
I know I’m finished mixing when I’m pleased with it and proud of it, and, more importantly, when the client is pleased with it and proud of it, then it’s finished. Sometimes it takes two rounds and sometimes it takes 10. I’m cool with either way. —Les Brockmann, Recording Engineer/Mixer and Score Mixer
From working with so many of my own women students and production clients over 30+ years, I learned first-hand that women possess unique attributes (like literally a different hearing range than men) and perspective in the studio that men don’t. They bring something special to the music production process that no one else can.
In 2016, was absolutely shocked to learn just how underserved the community of female recording engineers and producers was, and decided to do something about it. That’s when I founded Empowering Women In Audio and the women-only recording clinics. At the time, as far as I know, I was the only guy engineer/producer who focused exclusively on teaching recording and production skills to women. Fortunately, I’m happy to say that the market is becoming much better served now, and it’s still exciting for me to be a part of making that a reality. - Fett, Producer/Engineer, Author, Teacher & Coach
